If you are interested in learning about artificial intelligence (AI), you might want to check out the AI Center at Miami Dade College (MDC). The AI Center is a resource that supports MDC students, faculty, staff, and the community across all campuses to teach, learn, collaborate, and realize AI's potential.

MDC's AI Center offers various programs and events related to AI, such as the AI Speaker Series, the Mark Cuban AI Bootcamp, and professional training opportunities. MDC also received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop AI courses and an interdisciplinary certificate that will expose all college students to AI, while building capacity for the development of a four-year degree in applied AI.

The grant project, called Artificial Intelligence for All, is implemented in collaboration with University of Florida, Texas A&M University-Commerce, and the non-profit organization AI4ALL. The project also counts with the support from subject matter experts from companies like IBM, AWS, and Microsoft.

As part of this grant, MDC is offering the following courses:

  • AI Thinking
  • Applied AI in Business
  • AI & Ethics

Scholarship opportunities are available for MDC students who enroll in these classes. The courses are designed to provide industry-based professional development for MDC faculty and students, and to create interdisciplinary courses that make an AI certificate available and relevant to all MDC students.

AI is one of the most exciting and impactful fields of our time. It has applications in almost every industry and sector, from health care to education to entertainment. By learning about AI at MDC's AI Center, you can gain valuable skills and knowledge that will prepare you for the future of work and society.
